Since Ascension games’s current project is on a farm I thought that I would show a bit of the concept work for the game. Yeah the animals have attitude and the farmers are a little red-in-the-neck, but it’s still a ahem, a family game? Read the rest of this entry »
So, artit’s are flakey, odd, eccentric…weird. I’ve heard this for a loooooong time, and for the most part it’s true. I’m not sure if it’s just our behavior or the fact that we see the world in a way much different then those around us. My behavior sure has added to this stereotype with my short term memory, load of unfinished projects, speedy mouth, inability to sit still and do anything for to long……but wait, could something else be at play here? So the small little company I’m involved with is getting closer to releasing our fist iphone game. If you go here www.ascensiongames.com you can check out our posts on it and get a glimpse of what it is about. Basically you take scrabble, put it on a farm and then get the animals to “do the weird stuff” and you have it. If you have an iphone you should check it out, if you don’t then you’re as poor as me.
I’ll put up some of the concept art for it in the days to come. Most of the concept stuff made it through the process, but some was just to twisted and weird for public consumption.

So I’ve got a few pics from Norwescon. Found out in total that I sold 4 pieces, which may not be a big deal to those established artists out there but for me it was huge. Look, until now i had almost no finished works and only a huge backlog of ideas I’d been working on. I had come to accept that I am an idea guy low on the ability to actually follow through and finish something. But Norwescon changed that. Read the rest of this entry »

No digital stuff here, it’s old school. Read the rest of this entry »

OMG (to quote a famous teeny quick texter) I can’t believe that I haven’t posted in so damn long. There has been a bunch of stuff going on that I’m going to have to update here in the coming weeks. We have the seattle sketchgroup that any self respecting concept artist must join. It’s free, it’s fun and hell…you get to talk about artisty stuff. What’s not to love about that? I also have my 20 year reunion coming up. Wargh. Read the rest of this entry »
Forth of July Burien. Nice day out but it threatens to rain (at least thats what the forecasters keep saying). We head down to secure a spot on the parade route so we can enjoy the only fun, legal activity left in Burien on the 4th of July. Well, we didn’t have a problem finding a spot. Whether it was the weather, the construction going on downtown or people deciding to go to other cities to spend money and ignite their fireworks, Burien was sparce for the big parade. Before I fo into the nice pictures and fun we did have I want to point out some things that really bothered me. Read the rest of this entry »
