Forth of July Burien. Nice day out but it threatens to rain (at least thats what the forecasters keep saying). We head down to secure a spot on the parade route so we can enjoy the only fun, legal activity left in Burien on the 4th of July. Well, we didn’t have a problem finding a spot. Whether it was the weather, the construction going on downtown or people deciding to go to other cities to spend money and ignite their fireworks, Burien was sparce for the big parade. Summer finally arrived June 28th and 29th with the Burien Strawberry and arts festival. We journeyed down as a family on Saturday to try and catch a few hours of the fun. Bouncies, face painting, music, kids shows, food, art and fun were abundant at the festival. Read the rest of this entry »
Round 1 is completed for the Drizzledome 2 competetion. Check out the results and all the talent here . It’s been a blast so far and I think things are only oing to heat up in round 2.
Seattle vs. Vancouver an art challenge to remember? For those you you who don’t know conceptart.org has regular “Thunderdone: Last Man Standing” competitions which pit artist against artist in concept art challenges. When an artist “wins” a round they advance to the next round against a different artist. In the end there can be only one, but every competition breeds a lot of inspirational and amazing pieces of art. The judging is done by a group of artists so it keeps it fair and in the community. It’s midnight. I need to be up by 5 am to go to work but I still find it difficult to pull myself away from TF2. I play and draw at the same time (in between deaths… I now like the 19 second spawns) and love the sh*t out of the game. It’s just pure fun and it’s been a game that I’d been waiting for for a long time. The chat and banter between players, the taunts, the graphics, the fact that I can Lift up my little Demo Flak jacket to show you my smiley face all of these things leaves me laughing every time.
